Did you hear about the big phishing scam that hit the globe on Wednesday? Maybe (like me) you even were targeted!
If you received an email that said that somebody “has shared a document on Google Docs with you,” I hope you didn’t click on the inviting, blue “Open in Docs” button it contained.
But if you did, here’s what to do to make sure it’s no longer affecting you:
- Go to your Google account management page.
- If you see an app called Google Docs, revoke its permission to access your account.
Here are some extra precautions that we highly recommend:
- Just in case your password was compromised, change it here.
- Enable two-factor authentication on your account. This will prevent anyone from logging into your account without an additional code, so even if your password gets compromised, your account will be safe. (Yeah, it’s annoying, but it will protect you against so many potential attacks!)
